ANNIE: Fashion Design. I learned about sewing techniques, fabrics, and production. The pattern-making classes were essential for starting our line. |

ANNIE: While I attended FIDM, I worked as a production cutter for a small designer. After FIDM, I interned at a few places in NY (while attending Pratt). After Pratt, I worked for Anna Sui as assistant to the Production Manager. |

ANNIE: We met at Anna Sui. We started with a small collection of eight pieces that we designed, made the patterns, and sewed ourselves. We showed it to three small boutiques. All three stores ordered, so we were encouraged to continue. |

ANNIE: Sales growth, but now we have a great showroom to do it. We are always challenged by juggling design, production, shipping, money, and sleep. |

ANNIE: I love to see our ideas come to life. I also love to see other people wearing our stuff, especially strangers. |

ANNIE: To work on my own collection has always been my fantasy. And to make a living from our business is a dream come true. |

ANNIE: Start small, do as much as you can to save money, and learn all aspects of the business. It's a lot of work, so be prepared for long hours, headache, and disappointment in the beginning. But if you really love your work, it will be worthwhile. |
